1) Basics
If you start looking at traffic viewing/analysis for WIFI, you will quickly discover the following:
1) There are two major protocols currently in use for home WIFI networks - WEP and WPA,
2) WPA is much more secure than WEP.
Why/how is the first insecure you ask, and how can I analyse it in more detail? Should I really be concerned about only having WEP security on my home network? What if I only browse websites and do online shopping from time to time?
The answer is that you probably should be. In order to see why, you really need a laptop and a Linux install.
